The Faculty of Education, Ganesha Education University held a judiciary for strata 1 for the July 2020 period. This judiciary was different because it was carried out online, considering that there was no permission to conduct face-to-face meetings. Using the Zoom application, students and their families can watch this activity. The implementation took place in the Seminar Room of the Faculty of Education. Leaders, lecturers, staff, and employees from the Faculty of Education were present. 2 students from each study program were also invited as representatives. So there weren’t many people in the seminar room. The implementation also continues to pay attention to the Covid-19 protocol.
A total of 354 students graduated, consisting of 22 Guidance Counseling students, 7 Educational Technology students, 311 Elementary School Teacher Education students, and 14 Early Childhood Education Teacher Education students. Dr. I Made Tegeh, S.Pd., M.Pd as Deputy Dean I and Chair of the Judicial Committee said that the thesis examination went smoothly using the online method. There are system changes and new requirements such as a similarity test via SIAK with a percentage of 20% -25%. There are also requirements to publish articles in SINTA-indexed journals. He also reminded that students must pay off all their obligations within 3 months, including revising their thesis, if they have not paid off their obligations within that time, their degree will be canceled to take a re-examination.
The event continued with the reading of the decree, the names of the judiciary participants were attached to the decree to be read one by one. Most students receive degrees with honors and great satisfaction. The highest GPA was achieved by Ida Ayu Made Diah Naraswari, a student of the Guidance Counseling study program with a GPA of 4.0. followed by reading the judiciary words by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. I Ketut Gading, M.Psi who reminded us not to be a teacher in the eyes of students but to be a teacher in the hearts of students.
At the end of the activity, Diah as a representative of students who were admitted to the judiciary conveyed her message and impressions. In his message and impression, he asked for blessings so that he could be useful in society. He also advised his colleagues not to be too complacent and to be useful people. Meanwhile, the faculty, represented by the Dean of FIP, congratulated the prospective graduates and their families. According to him, the essence of this simple judicial event remains the same, only, “view the obstacles previously experienced as things that must be overcome because life’s journey is not straight, there is learning there, it all starts from the mind, if we think well then we will get good things. Congratulations to the prospective graduates and their families.”
