Singaraja – The Basic Education Department Student Association (HMJ Pendas) successfully held the XVI Regional Level Five Subject Contest (LLMP) which took place in the Undiksha Postgraduate Auditorium Room (06/11/2022). The annual competition for the revolving trophy of the Chancellor of the Ganesha University of Education was very fierce. How could it not be, a total of 12 teams from elementary schools throughout Bali, competed for tickets to the final round.
On that occasion, the Head of Middle School Development Division, Youth and Sports Education Office (Disdikpora) of Buleleng Regency, Putu Prima Suta, S.Sn. His presence was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. I Made Tegeh, S.Pd., M.Pd., Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., along with the Secretary of the Department of Education, Dr. I Gede Astawan, S.Pd., M.Pd.
In his remarks, Deputy Dean Putu Aditya welcomed the activities initiated by HMJ Pendas. According to him, this activity can improve the competitiveness of the students themselves. He further advised the accompanying teachers, to always guide and assist their students in developing their potential and interests and talents.
“It is very extraordinary, we as leaders appreciate the holding of this activity, as an effort to create a superior generation. For this reason, I hope that the mentor teachers will continue to guide their students,” said Aditya.
During the activity, Sie Lomba Ni Komang Novi Wardani from the PGSD Study Program, explained that the quick and agile tests were a series of parameters in the event.
“In the semi-finals, it is divided into 3 rooms, where in 1 room there are 4 teams that will compete in answering tests related to Mathematics, PPKN, Social Sciences, Science, and Indonesian subjects, to go to the final stage,” he said.
After going through the semi-finals, 3 teams were selected to return to fight for the top position. The three teams are: SD Saraswati 5 Denpasar, SD Cipta Dharma, and SD Negeri 2 Batu Agung. After passing a series of rigorous tests, the SD Saraswati 5 Denpasar team won 1st place as well as defending the Undiksha Chancellor’s Rotating Cup for the third time.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Middle School Development Division, Disdikpora Buleleng Regency, Putu Prima Suta, S.Sn., gave his high appreciation for the event which was fronted by HMJ Penda. His party assessed that this activity was in line with the National Science Olympiad program initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture, as an effort to improve the quality of education.
“We really support activities that lead to improving the quality of our education. I think this LLMP is an event to find seeds to be fielded in the upcoming National Science Olympiad,” he explained.
Also conveyed, his party continues to encourage schools to actively participate in similar activities, in order to give birth to a smart young generation. Therefore, his party hopes that this LLMP activity can continue to be developed to a higher level.
“Every school has BOS funds, so please use them for competitions like this, because the true purpose of these funds is to improve the quality of students. We hope that this activity is not only at the elementary level, but maybe at a higher level,” he concluded. (hms Dewa Nida)
