Denpasar– Undiksha Faculty of Education (FIP) students continue to be committed to showing their existence on the national stage, this is an effort to make the Faculty of Education become a faculty trendsetter, one of which is through the Student Creativity Program (PKM). After receiving PKM-PM funding in 2022, FIP Undiksha student innovation mentored by Drs. I Wayan Sujana, S.Pd., M.Pd., entitled “Making Dreams Come True Through Collaborative Training for Deaf and Blind Children in Dance Creativity Performances using Mouth Gamelan (Gamut) at State Special Schools (SLB) 1 & Special Schools (SLB ) Negeri 2 Denpasar” is now heading towards the Progress Assessment stage of PKM Implementation (PKP2), by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Ristekdikti).
Supporting this, the team headed by Ni Pande Kadek Dewi Sudiartini, with members Ni Kadek Trisna Putri Utami, Ni Made Windya Candrayani, Ni Kadek Feby Widianita from the Primary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD), and Bhavani Devi from the Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BK), carried out a collaborative video production of Mouth Gamelan and Pendet Dance performed by Deaf and Blind students, on Saturday (06/08/2022) at the Denpasar UPPBM Hall, as an effort to strengthen innovation in the upcoming PKP2 assessment, as stated by the team leader, Ni Pande Kadek Dewi Sudiartini. He hopes that this activity can increase the self-confidence of people with disabilities. More than that, he hopes that this innovation can appear at the prestigious National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) in 2022.
“Based on the research we conducted, there is a problem, namely students’ lack of self-confidence. “So with this collaboration, we hope to be able to overcome these problems, because we believe that despite their shortcomings, they have extraordinary advantages,” she said.
In line with that, Supervisor Drs. I Wayan Sujana, S.Pd., M.Pd., conveyed the ideas outlined in this innovative work, which was considered a unique breakthrough. His party also always directs and guides student activities, to increase the achievement of the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) and the Faculty’s Student Ranking Management Information System (Simkatmawa) at the National level.
“This oral gamelan is something that can be said to be rare, therefore we are intensifying this idea again to be able to compete in the next PIMNAS. “We will optimize students at UPPBM Denpasar to contribute to increasing the IKU and Simkatmawa of the faculty,” he hoped.
This activity was welcomed proudly by the Chairman of UPPBM Denpasar, Prof. Dr. Anak Agung Gede Agung, M.Pd., “I am proud of this innovation, the collaboration of Pendet Dance from Deaf people accompanied by mouth gamelan from Blind people is an extraordinary thing, I hope it can compete in PIMNAS so that we can increase the faculty’s IKU points ”, he concluded.
