Denpasar – The boisterous sound of the Gatot Kaca dance accompanied the opening of the Student Creativity Event-Art Appreciation Night (AKM-MAS) of the Teaching and Learning Process Implementation Unit (UPPBM) of Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) Denpasar. This activity, which was held at the Undiksha Denpasar Auditorium, was officially opened by the Dean of FIP Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Gading, M.Psi., Saturday, (27/11/2021). This flagship activity of HMUPPBM Denpasar will be held until 17 December. Not only does it aim to hone students’ potential and creativity, but more than that, the winners in this activity will later represent the Faculty of Education in the upcoming Undiksha Anniversary Week.
Confirmed directly, the chairman of UPPBM Denpasar, Prof. Dr. Anak Agung Gede Agung, M.Pd., felt proud of the UPPBM Denpasar students because they were able to conceptualize and carry out this AKM-MAS activity independently and creatively. This activity is an opportunity for students to be creative, especially in the COVID-19 situation. In fact, during this pandemic, students need to be given space to do activities so that they don’t get bored just staying at home, thereby affecting their immune system. This student creativity event will further hone the realms of heart, taste, and physical exercise. This is different from scientific work competitions such as PKM which tend to sharpen students’ reasoning powers.
“With this, there will be a balance between the right brain and left brain of students, namely in the cognitive domain, namely reasoning, affective, namely feeling, and also motoric. “In the future, I hope that what was initiated today can be continued and carried out sustainably,” he said.
Furthermore, the same thing was also expressed by the UPPBM Undiksha Denpasar Student Affairs Advisor, Drs. I Wayan Sujana, S.Pd., M.Pd. Based on Undiksha’s vision, namely to become a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045, UPPBM Undiksha student affairs tries to carry out related activities as stated in SIMKATMAWA. Students are encouraged to be truly creative and express their talents and interests. This potential must be appreciated so that lecturers, student advisors, and the head of UPPBM Undiksha will provide space to explore this potential.
“The strategy is that we at UPPBM Denpasar have designed a work program that is more towards SIMKATMAWA’s achievements. Through activities that have been planned, we make them happen. “Students take full initiative to carry it out, while we as lecturers only provide encouragement and motivation,” Sujana explained.
Chairman of the 2021 AKM-MAS committee, I Nyoman Aditya Mardiana outlined a series of activities that will be carried out until December 17, 2021. Activities will be carried out every Saturday and Sunday so that they do not interfere with effective lecture days. The activity started with the opening and continued with competitions such as gymnastics, basketball, pesantian, and karaoke competitions.
Meanwhile, the Chair of HMUPPBM Denpasar, I Gede Mahardika, hopes that through this activity he will be able to explore the potential of students, who will later be able to contribute to the FIP Anniversary competition, as well as being able to represent the Faculty in the Anniversary week. “The faculty really appreciates our activities, one of which is the online activity opened by the Dean of FIP. Later at the closing, the FIP dean will be present directly at UPPBM Denpasar. That is one form of appreciation given by the faculty to us.” concluded Mahardika. hms FIP Undiksha.
