Singaraja – Successfully holding the XVII Youth Selection Competition with Characteristics, Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) Singaraja through the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Education (FIP) completed a series of prestigious events at the Undiksha Singaraja Auditorium, Friday (28/10/2021).
After going through a series of very strict assessments, the top 5 finalists remain who will compete for the 2021 Youth with Characteristics seats. Insight tests related to Character Education, Ipoleksosbudhankam, Character Education and Freedom to Learn at the Independent Campus are a number of parameters in the PRB selection event which is the routine agenda of FIP Undiksha National level.
As host, Putu Wia Rosita Dewi from Ganesha University of Education, succeeded in winning the Bali Governor’s Cup, after performing best among the top 5 finalists competing for the 2021 Youth with Characteristics seat. Wia Rosita Dewi’s success was followed by Putu Mirah Wahyu Subagia Putri from SMA Negeri 3 Denpasar in 2nd place and Putu Darmika Susilawati from Burdendem 1 Public High School in 3rd place.
“Ideally, the younger generation should not only be intelligent in their subjects, but they should also be smarter in their character because intelligence can give us strength, but character can give us honor,” he said.
Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Gading, M.Psi explained that PRB was held as a moment to restore students’ character towards a better direction, especially as participants would return to their respective schools and were expected to be able to spread the experience and knowledge gained while participating in the competition.
“PRB is held so that they not only have good intellectual intelligence, but also have noble character. “We hope that this activity will encourage schools and universities to educate and develop their students so that they have good character and become complete graduates,” she stressed.
Furthermore, the number one person in the Faculty of Education also hopes that the selection of young people with good character will continue to be implemented and developed so that later this activity will be able to involve participants from schools and universities throughout Indonesia with an increase in the quality and quantity of participants.
Previously, the PRB XVII 2021 Undiksha event was opened by the Head of the Bali Province High School Development Division, I Nyoman Ratmaja. In his remarks, the Bali Provincial Government always supports educational programs that aim at improving the character of the younger generation, in line with educational principles that refer to Pancasila students, as stated in the National Education Law.
As an appreciation from the institution, all the top fifteen finalists in the 2021 PRB event are also entitled to a letter of recommendation from the Dean of FIP Undiksha to have the opportunity to continue their studies at the Undiksha campus without testing, with the exception of the Faculty of Medicine
