Denpasar – The proud female pencak silat athlete of the Faculty of Education (FIP), I Dewa Ayu Mas Gita Pramesti (PGSD), succeeded in making the Faculty famous after winning 1st place in Class B Adult Women in the 2022 Bali International Championship II Pencak Silat Championship, which was held at the arena GOR Praja Raksaka Kodam IX/Udayana, Kepaon, South Denpasar, on Tuesday-Thursday (5-7/7/2022). He, who also represented Undiksha in this match, managed to win the Gold Medal after defeating athletes from Naga Sakti–Java University with a landslide score of 3-0.
The achievement of the proud female athlete from FIP Undiksha was welcomed proudly by the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., his team, and staff appreciate the achievements of PGSD UPPBM Denpasar students. He hopes that in the future FIP’s achievements can continue to improve, both at regional, national, and even international levels. According to him, this brilliant achievement can support the achievement of Main Performance Indicators (IKU), Simkatmawa, and Faculty Clusterization.
“As Deputy Dean III, I appreciate the achievements achieved by the PGSD UPBBM Denpasar students. We have prepared special incentives for students who have won the competition, as a stimulus to continue working for the greatness of the Faculty of Education. Apart from that, we also convert these achievements into course grades,” he said.
Confirmed, Dewa Ayu Gita expressed her pride in being able to make the name of the Faculty and Institution proud. This achievement is considered a leap towards winning a medal in the next championship. Even though he suffered a leg injury during the match, Dewa Ayu Gita’s persistence resulted in Undiksha becoming the 2nd overall champion. “I am very proud to be able to give my best for the Ganesha Education University and grateful to have had the experience of competing in matches with various martial arts schools throughout Indonesia, even though I suffered a leg injury during the match. final, I still fought hard to win a gold medal. This championship is a motivation to excel in the next championship. “I hope that in the future, physical training and techniques in competitions will be further improved so that we can achieve even better achievements in the future,” he concluded.
