Karangasem– The Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program Team (PPK Ormawa) of the Basic Education Department Student Association (HMJ Pendas) of the Faculty of Education (FIP) Undiksha, continues to intensify the development of Tianyar Village towards a Smart Village. It was not enough to carry out various trainings, the team coached by the Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., has now initiated the DOREMI Literacy Corner “Do Engsap Rame-rame Melajah Dini” which is based in 4 Banjars, including: SDN 8 Tianyar (parent and affiliate), Widya Sari Foundation, Yayasan Lascarya Paramaseva, as well as the Dinda Satya Vairocona Foundation, on Sunday (04/09/2022) local time.
Confirming this, team leader Made Nirmala Karunika Sari from the PGSD Study Program explained that, based on information collected, it was recorded that 47% of the people of Tianyar Village had only studied up to the elementary school (SD) level. Based on this problem, his party and the team built a literacy corner to deepen knowledge and increase students’ literacy, especially in elementary schools.
“We saw the lack of reading facilities in elementary schools, so we created this reading corner, with the hope of increasing their enthusiasm for learning,” she said.
For your information, she, who is familiarly called Nirmala, said that apart from creating a literacy corner, steps taken to support the development of smart villages are by promoting English language training with overseas volunteers which is carried out regularly, Monday-Wednesday, at the Widya Foundation Sari. Furthermore, the student born in 2002 hopes that through this work program, the younger generation will be able to learn the basics of English. (hms Dewa Nida)
