Singaraja – The Faculty of Education (FIP) Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has once again made a brilliant achievement in the 2023 National Essay Competition (LETIN), organized by the Prisma Nusantara Institute. This prestigious competition became a stage for students from all over Indonesia, with a total of 183 works submitted. This event takes place from 30 September to 01 October in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.
Two talented students from FIP Undiksha, I Gusti Km. Agus Angga Putra W. and Ni Luh Puspa Pratiwi, came up with extraordinary ideas in their essays, setting a historical milestone in this competition.
The title of Angga’s essay, “Optimizing Satua Bali Local Cultural Literacy Based on Augmented Reality,” won the 2023 LETIN General 1st Prize award. However, his achievements did not stop there. Angga also received a Gold Medal in the Education Category and was named Best Presenter and won Favorite Video at LETIN 2023.
Ni Luh Puspa Pratiwi also achieved brilliant achievements. With his technology-themed essay, he won a Bronze Medal in the 2023 LETIN Technology Category, proving that innovation knows no boundaries.
In an exclusive interview, Angga shared his research journey which revealed the low interest in reading among Indonesian people, especially in the Buleleng area. Through careful case studies, Angga found that the integration of traditional Satua Bali books with augmented reality technology could increase students’ interest in reading. “This method is expected to meet students’ learning styles, such as auditory, visual, or both. “This is also used to support the literacy movement in schools,” he said enthusiastically.
Furthermore, he explained that the main idea of ??his essay was how books and applications could be well integrated with augmented reality technology. With this approach, users can scan images in books and view three-dimensional images or videos connected to the real world.
Deputy Dean III Faculty of Education Undiksha, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., expressed high appreciation for the brilliant achievements of his students, “I really appreciate the achievements that our students have achieved again. “As support from the faculty, we have prepared large funds for this, as well as ensuring that students receive guidance from competent lecturers to continue to make achievements in both academic and non-academic fields.”
In closing, Deputy Dean III FIP Undiksha hopes that in the future the Faculty of Education will be increasingly showered with brilliant achievements and of course, this will bring Undiksha’s name to even greater glory.
