Accreditation is an acknowledgment of the quality of a journal, both in terms of management and the quality of the articles. Currently, the government’s reference for accreditation is Sinta, Index Scopus, and WoS accreditation. According to the Head of the Journal and Publication Development Team, Undiksha Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Anak Agung Gede Agung, M.Pd “several FIP journals are worthy of receiving recognition at a higher level, so they need re-accreditation.” Sinta’s accreditation recognition according to the certificate obtained is 5 years. After that, you must apply for re-accreditation (re-accreditation). However, to increase a journal’s ranking, for example from Sinta-4 to Sinta 3, or from Sinta-3 to Sinta-2, you can apply for reaccreditation before 5 years.
This year, the FIP Journal Accreditation Team plans to apply for re-accreditation in the 4th week of June to early July. With the hope that the announcement can be included in the second period of 2020. He also hopes that “of the 10 journals managed by FIP, one of the journals in FIP will be indexed by Sinta 2 and Scopus index. We will fight until that happens.” Some of the preparations that have been made by the accreditation team are organizing the journal website, improving journal governance and improving the quality of articles.
Seeing the current pandemic situation, of course, FIP has a special strategy to improve accreditation. This strategy includes forming an accreditation team and journal managers who are competent in their fields, following the journal accreditation quarantine organized by the rector, and then carrying out the FIP ??Journal accreditation quarantine independently at the Faculty level. “The team that was formed consisted of lecturers who were used to working with journals and articles. I believe this team is very great and talented lecturers who have high commitment abilities. “They are all FIP Undiksha lecturers,” said Agung. In this case, the role of FIP is very important. The Dean in particular and the Dean in general are very supportive of this accreditation activity, both morally and materially. In fact, according to Agung, the Dean is always present at every limited meeting to discuss developments in journal accreditation. In this way, it is hoped that the Faculty of Education, Undiksha, will have good quality journals trendsetter journals in the field of education in Indonesia.
