Singaraja – The Faculty of Education (FIP) Undiksha through the Student Association of the Department of Basic Education held the Echo of National Level Essay Competition for the first time in 2022, the opening of which took place in the FIP Seminar Room, Saturday morning (12/17/2022). This hybrid event was attended directly by the Vice Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., accompanied by the Secretary of the Basic Education Department, Dr. I Gede Astawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the Simkatmawa Cluster, I Kadek Edi Yudiana, M.Pd., and student supervisors of FIP Undiksha.
The excellent program of the Student Association of the Department of Basic Education carried the theme “Through the Echo of the National Essay, Let’s Create Careful Generation (Smart, Educational, Rational, Independent and Educated) as conveyed by the Chairman of the Committee, Ni Kadek Ananda Kumara Sinta from the Study Program of Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD). She said that based on the data that were successfully collected, there were 498 participants with a classification of 274 individuals and 224 groups spread from various universities in Indonesia. It was also conveyed that this activity was filled with a National Seminar Webinar by presenting a speaker, Dr. I Gede Astawan, S.Pd., M.Pd.
“This competition is a new breakthrough from Departmental Student Association. Today the top 10 finalists will be announced who will then take part in the final presentation stage and they will compete for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and on Tuesday, December 20th , 2022, hopefully” she explained.
In his remarks, Vice Dean Dr. Aditya who represented the Rector of Undiksha appreciated the activity led by the Student Association of the Department of Basic Education. He considered that the essay competition was a reflection of students as academic people. Furthermore, the Vice Dean from Medahan Village, Gianyar, emphasized to the competition participants to be able to become problem solving agents of a problem that exists in the community.
“This student is part of the intellectual community so that through this competition, they should be able to educate all parties. These participants should be able to offer solutions to the existing problems, then write them in papers,” he said.
He also hoped that this activity would continue to be carried out as an effort to teach the entire academic community, especially at the Faculty of Education. For this reason, he emphasized that the leaders always supports work programs initiated by Ormawa within FIP Undiksha. The support so far has been shown by mentoring and preparing funding sourced from the Faculty DIPA.
“This competition is a characteristic of the academic community. We always support, we fund this excellent activity and we guide students to make this event more exciting and better,” he concluded. (PR Dewa Nida)
