Nyoman Sukma Sumampan and I Komang Anom Januraga are seen as having talent in making animation. This talent can be seen from the results of his studies when taking courses taught by Dewa Gede Agus Putra Prabawa, S.Pd., M.Pd. Because of his talent, Prabawa wants to hone his skills by taking part in an animation video competition organized by Diponogoro University.
According to Sukma, various preparations have been carried out since mid-April and were completed in June at the upload stage. He also explained the preparations made starting from “a general overview of the animated video that will be made, we also discussed with each other via the Discord application what we will prepare later in making this animated video and received a lot of input from the supervisor and other lecturers in the Educational Technology Study Program.” The competition supervisor, Dewa Gede Agus Putra Prabawa, S.Pd., M.Pd, said the same thing, “so after the video was finished, it was reviewed again by the lecturers in the Educational Technology study program, apart from that I also coordinated with the Deputy Dean III FIP handles student affairs issues.”
Not in vain, after the announcement, Nyoman Sukma Sumampan and I Komang Anom Januraga were surprised when their team succeeded in becoming 1st place in the National Animation Video Competition (Indonesia Against Covid-19). Sukma said that his parents were also happy with his achievements, saying “You deserve it,” said Sukma. He emphasized that “this video would be nothing without all the parties who have helped us”. The animated video with a duration of 2 minutes and 11 seconds describes how to prevent being infected with Covid-19. Even though they had problems communicating with their teammates due to the pandemic situation, they still believed they could produce the best work. “The message for other students is to stay enthusiastic, try and don’t abstain from the menorah,” said Sukma. Meanwhile, as a coach, Prabawa also felt proud of his students’ hard work and advised “In fact, this could be a future prospect for making learning videos with animation, but it needs to be further deepened so that it can produce work that is useful for society.”
