Singaraja– Faculty of Education (FIP) Undiksha has once again gained achievements on the national stage. This time it comes from the Indonesian Essay Writing Competition in the framework of Language Month 2022 which is organized by the Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program Hima, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Riau, online on Friday – Sunday, 28 – 30 October 2022. Through design innovation metaverse-based literacy application to optimize the school literacy movement as an active form of creativity and preservation of the Indonesian language, I Gusti Komang Agus Angga Putra Widiarta, from Pordi PGSD with mentor Drs. I Made Suarjana, M.Pd., won 1st place.
Confirming this, he, who is familiarly called Angga, explained that the creation of this innovation was motivated by the low interest of students in carrying out literacy activities. It was also conveyed that in the era of digitalization, learning media in the form of learning is considered less attractive. The student who was born in 2002 admitted that this was his first achievement in an essay competition. However, his party was able to occupy the top position, after eliminating hundreds of participants throughout Indonesia. This achievement is certainly inseparable from the special training undertaken before appearing at this prestigious event.
“Of course I am very proud and grateful to be able to win 1st place, even though this is my first competition in the field of essay writing. “Proud to be able to make FIP and Undiksha proud again,” he said.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that this achievement was a large capital to participate in international competitions. He hopes that in the future he can make further achievements, as an effort to realize a Superior FIP. He also invited all FIP students to always hone themselves and develop their potential, so that they can compete in various competitions both at the national and international levels.
“I hope that I can achieve many more achievements, and I hope that my fellow students will also participate in competitions out there,” he added.
This achievement received full appreciation from the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd. He assessed that Angga’s achievements were able to boost the achievements of the future Simkatmawa faculty. He said that the leadership continues to strive to improve student achievement. The steps taken are of course providing guidance, mentoring, and preparing funding. The Deputy Dean from Medahan Village hopes that this achievement can motivate other students to take part in the competition.
“This achievement will certainly add to our achievement data, I hope that in the future there will be many outstanding students like Angga. “We have prepared special funds for students who take part in the competition,” said Aditya.(hms Dewa Nida)
