Singaraja – A total of 859 new students from the Faculty of Education took part in the opening of the Faculty Introduction and Student Familiarity and Harmony Period (MKKM) in 2022, on Thursday (18/08/2022) morning. The activity, which was centered in the Gde Manik Singaraja Art Building, was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Gading, M.Psi., accompanied by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. I Made Tegeh, S.Pd., M.Pd., Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., Department Leaders, Study Program Coordinators, Employees, and Lecturers in the Undiksha FIP environment.
This faculty introduction activity began with the introduction of the dean’s ranks, academic socialization, infrastructure, and student affairs in the early part of the morning, then continued with a student community parade in the Undiksha FIP environment, displaying student achievements, introducing BEM functionaries, and ending with an explanation of the scope of duties and functions. In his speech, Dean Ivory emphasized character building, and Budi Pekerti is very important in order to give birth to a superior and competitive generation. The number one person in FIP Undiksha also invites all new students to establish togetherness, and build commitment, as a step to improve the quality of faculties in the national and international arena. He hopes that in the future new students will be able to undergo the learning process well, graduate on time, and be absorbed in the world of work.
“We have to prepare the characters, so that they are able to adapt to the continuous development. In addition, we will also build togetherness and commitment to be able to improve the quality of the faculty in the future,” he said.
The Chairperson of the Undiksha FIP BEM, Ni Putu Putri Budiastini from the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) said that in the implementation of this activity, attitudes and ethics were much emphasized. How not, the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in a character degradation in students. Therefore, through this activity, students are expected to be able to become strong and careful individuals.
