The Election of Students’ association of Pendidikan Dasar was held on Tuesday, February 9th 2021. This event was following the health protocal so that the committee who were attended was the representative of each students’ association. This event was officially opened by the Dean of Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan of Undiksha, Dr. I Ketut Gading,M.Psi. This ceremony was attended by the Deputy Dean III of FIP who handle Students and Alumni Affairs. Besides that, the ceremony was also attended by the representative of lectures of Pendas. In this event, head of department, secretary and coordinator of Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD).
This event was opened officially by the Dean of Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan (FIP). As the the dean of FIP, Dr. I ketut Gading, M.Psi. Gave the appreciation for the consistency of this event for every year. Not only that, the Dean of FIP stated that democracy by deliberation and consensus has been inherited from a long time ago and we continued to do it, starting from the selection of the Chancellor, Dean, Staff and so on by consensus agreement. This consensus deliberation was inherited by the founder of this language. In the Undang Undang Dasar it is stipulated that every breakdown must be carried out by deliberation and consensus and if it did not get a new result, then moved to conduct the voting. The Dean asked the management of the HMJ Pendas to be able to organize democracy by deliberation and consensus. The Dean stated that he had not received any information about the method of decision making or the succession system to be carried out. But the Dean asked that a consensus be carried out. The Dean also gave directions to the BEM FIP and HMUPPBM to carry it out by deliberation to reach consensus. To deliberate not only representatives but to collect in one place is not easy. Therefore, voting can be carried out at different levels. The reason of The Dean encouraged deliberation to reach consensus because of the democratic culture of deliberation to reach consensus and it suits the conditions of a country like this. And if the voting system is implemented it can split the country. If the result of voting was not expected it caused the lack of support of the candidate. However, the deliberation could not make any splits although there were different opinions of elite. And the weakness of voting is only knowing the name and picture and not knowing the characteristics and not knowing how the work will be done. Meanwhile, deliberation to reach consensus, if it is related to the succession of those who are already involved in the activity, of course they already know the characteristics, jobs so that they can choose the leader properly. The results of deliberation can lead to peace, cohesiveness and commitment. The Dean did not want to impose the students’ thoughts in which the students needed to think about the best thing that yields somewhat good results. Besides that, Pendas is the biggest strength of FIP because it has quite a lot of students, especially PGSD. Besides that, The Dean also stated to coordinate well and reduce the sense of egoism. The ceremoy was continued by plenary session that was conducted four times. In this plenary session was the place for the candidates to deliver their vision and mission as the head and the vice of HMJ Pendas FIP Undiksha in 2021/2022. In that session they were given two questions right after deliver their vision and mission. The first question was from the audience on the plenary sessions and the second questions was from the participants from google meeting. They were expected to answer the questions that were given by the audience. -(humasFIP)
