Singaraja– Faculty of Education (FIP) Undiksha also celebrated the Faculty Parade for the XXX Anniversary Week of Ganesha University of Education, Monday (16/01/2023). The event, which was centered in the Undiksha Central Campus Ceremony Field, was lively and spectacular, decorated with cheers from the audience. On that occasion, FIP Undiksha successfully performed a dance fragment entitled “Garuda Digjaya” which was initiated by the choreographer, I Nyoman Sugita Rupiana, S.Sn. He explained this dance tells the story of the Garuda’s journey to free his mother Dewi Winata from the bonds of Dewi Kadru and her retinue, through “Tirta Amerta” in this case a science that is able to glorify fellow living creatures. This is certainly in line with Undiksha’s vision, namely to become a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045.
“So the meaning is that Tirta Amerta is noble knowledge that we must learn all the time. “It is hoped that this knowledge will be useful for worshiping Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, useful for fellow humans, and useful for the sustainability of the universe,” explained Sugita.
This extraordinary masterpiece was welcomed with joy by the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd. He expressed his highest appreciation to the dance organizers, students, committee, and all people involved in making this dance a success. The official from Medahan Village, Gianyar also said that the leadership always provided full support to BEM and HMJ in preparing the contingent to compete in this grand annual event. Support is shown through coaching, mentoring, and funding.
“A neat performance, yes, so well done. Even the dancers are pulled up to a height of 6 meters, something extraordinary. “On this anniversary, we have prepared space for students to practice, and facilitate qualified trainers, and of course, we have prepared funds for this,” said Adit.
