Singaraja – The 34th National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) 2021 is being held again. This prestigious event was held at the University of North Sumatra, as the host. PIMNAS is a series of activities that are inseparable from the implementation of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) which has been implemented and went through the 2021 PKM Implementation Activity Assessment (PKP2) stage online, then several PKM teams were selected whose work was included in PIMNAS.
Seeing the opportunities that exist, students from the Faculty of Education in the names of Rohmat Romadhan (Educational Technology) and Gusti Ngurah Kade Angga Juliartawan (Primary School Teacher Education) took part in this year’s PIMNAS event. They are part of a team consisting of Gde Rama Isimunuartha (Mathematics Education/FMIPA), Ni Kadek Dwi Utami (Mathematics Education/FMIPA), and Ni Wayan Ayu Kesumawati (Mathematics Education/FMIPA) who appointed PKM-PM with the title“Math-Powtoon Coaching and Mentoring for Special School Teachers in Buleleng Regency to Optimize Mathematics Learning for Deaf Students”.
The choice of title was motivated by observations in the field, that deaf students had difficulty understanding Mathematics learning. “Especially during the pandemic which requires learning to be carried out online, so there is a need for media that suits their needs and can help deaf students in learning mathematics,” explained Gde Rama Isimunuartha (Team Leader).
“We also see that there is a lack of availability of learning media for deaf children, so we have the initiative to provide training and assistance for teachers in making learning media, with the hope that in the future it can help deaf students in learning mathematics,” he continued.
Confirmed separately, Rohmat Ramadhan said that building good cooperation and communication as well as trust and sincere work is the initial foundation for achieving success.
“We hope that in the future we can provide the best for Undiksha, and be able to donate medals at PIMNAS 34. We hope that many students will enjoy writing PKM and become regenerates in the future. Maybe now we qualify, next year it could be you. Let’s keep up the enthusiasm,” said Angga Juliartawan.
“PIMNAS is a very prestigious event for universities, especially in the field of student achievement. I am very grateful that in 2021 our students can pass PIMNAS in collaboration with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. “I hope that at PIMNAS later, we can win a Gold medal so that in the future we can boost our SIMKATMAWA Score,” concluded the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd.(Public Relations of FIP Undiksha / Dewa Nida, reporting).
