Badung– Undiksha Faculty of Education (FIP) students developed an innovative E-Fishien Website for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Kelan Traditional Village, Badung Regency, Bali. This step is an effort to improve the local community’s economy, which is outlined in the 2022 Innovillage program.
The Innovillage 2022 program is a Social Project competition, a collaboration between PT Telkom Indonesia and universities with the theme “Empowering Young Sociopreneurs for National Development” to accommodate students to be actively involved in overcoming the social problems of village communities, through applicable digital innovations that are related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Flamboyan Team led by I Nyoman Arya Apriana with members I Komang Mas Haldi Surya Cahyana and Kadek Cahya Hindira Aryanti from the Primary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) mentored by Drs. I Wayan Sujana, S.Pd., M.Pd., successfully qualified as the top 150 Innovillage Social Projects in 2022.
Team leader Arya Apriana explained that after conducting observations and interviews, it was revealed that the lack of land to build a market meant that the Kelan Village community sold the fish they caught to neighboring villages, which resulted in low income for the local community. Based on this problem, his party and the team initiated a digital media innovation called E-Fishien as a solution to support the economic activities of fishermen in the Kelan Traditional Village.
“We came up with this innovation because people have difficulty marketing their catch. “Hopefully E-Fishien can be a solution in improving the fishermen’s economy,” he explained Tuesday (04/10/2022).
This breakthrough received appreciation from the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd. He considered that student participation in this prestigious event was a form of real contribution in dealing with problems in society. The Deputy Dean from Medahan Village, Gianyar is always committed to continuing to improve achievement, steps taken by maximizing funding, coaching, and mapping student potential.
“Very extraordinary, this innovation is in line with Tri Dharma PT. “We have prepared matching funds for the sustainability of this program,” said Aditya.
He further stated that he hopes that this innovation can progress to the next stage and be ranked as the best.
“Hopefully every year we can enter this prestigious event, as capital to increase our competitiveness and of course as a benchmark for our excellence and achievement,” he concluded. (hms Dewa Nida)
