Singaraja– Students from the Faculty of Education (FIP) Undiksha were again recorded as winners in an international competition, through the innovation of Augmented Reality Subak and Electro Wand: An Arduino-Based Learning Practicum Tool for Electromagnetic Wave Detection, students from the Primary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) for name Ni Luh Putu Divya Jyoti Mahardika, together with a team consisting of Putu Dimas Pramudita from the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program (PTI) as team leader, Komang Cahayani Putri from the Accounting Study Program, and I Gede Engga Suandita from the Law Science Study Program, succeeded in winning the Gold Medal and IYSA Special Award for Subak Augmented Reality innovation, as well as a Bronze Medal for Electro Wand innovation, at the 2022 World Youth Invention and Innovation Award (WYIIA), organized by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA), based in Yogyakarta on 22 – 26 August 2022.
Confirmed, Ni Luh Putu Divya Jyoti Mahardika explained that the creation of this innovation was motivated by the lack of public interest in Indonesian cultural heritage, especially the younger generation who are currently more interested in foreign culture. Based on this problem, his party and the team designed an Augmented Reality Subak innovation by combining culture and technology to educate the public while keeping up with the times.
As explained further, she, who is familiarly called Divya, said that the second innovation, called Electro Wand: An Arduino-Based Learning Practicum Tool for Electromagnetic Wave Detection, is a learning medium in the form of an Arduino-based practical tool, that can help students detect electromagnetic wave radiation. He believes that this media can help students more quickly understand learning material that is not yet available in Physics subjects, with the hope of improving students’ psychomotor skills during practicums/demonstrations.
The success of this student from Batuagung Village, Jembrana cannot be separated from the special training and teamwork carried out before appearing in this prestigious event. He expressed his pride, after being allowed to introduce traditional Balinese culture, Subak which regulates the agricultural water/irrigation system in Bali. More than that, this student with the golden voice, proud of the Faculty of Education, also had the opportunity to perform the song “Taksu” in the Cultural Performance session. No wonder his performance amazed the participants and invitees from various countries. They hope that this product can be developed to educate the general public. He also did not forget to invite all FIP Undiksha students to always innovate to create a superior FIP Undiksha. “I target that this product can be developed so that it can make the faculty’s name proud again, and I hope that this product can preserve Bali’s cultural heritage,” said Divya.
