Singaraja – Residential (household) waste is one of the triggers for environmental pollution that has the most obvious impact, especially on urban communities in Indonesia. This is caused by the lack of public awareness of the importance of caring for and protecting the surrounding environment. This problem is of serious concern to the Community Service Student Creativity Program Team (PKM-PM) of the Faculty of Education (FIP) Undiksha. For information, innovation mentored by the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., won PKM-PM funding in 2022. This service will enter the PKM Implementation Progress Assessment (PKP2) stage by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Ristekdikti) on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
The team leader, Sahda Nabila Pramesti explained that this innovation was motivated by the low awareness of the community, especially PKK women in Arjuna Street, Banjar Jawa Village, Singaraja about the importance of waste management. She said, according to data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, in 2022 there will be 97.82% of waste sources coming from households.
Confirmed, I Gusti Agung Ayu Putu Listyana said she was proud because the proposal submitted has now passed being funded. She who is familiarly called Gung Ayu hopes that her innovation can appear at the prestigious National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) in 2022.
“Proud to be at this stage, hopefully, this innovation can appear at PIMNAS later,” hoped Gung Ayu.
She did not forget to invite all FIP students to always push themselves, so they could compete in various competitions.
“Friends, let’s keep going even though it’s slow, because by taking steps we will be closer to those goals and achievements,” he added.
Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., appreciated this achievement. According to him, this innovation really supports the achievement of Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (IKU). More than that, his party considered this dedication to be very important in order to increase the competitiveness of faculties and graduates in the future.
