Singaraja– Residential (household) waste is one of the triggers for environmental pollution which has the most visible impact, especially on urban communities in Indonesia. This results from a lack of public awareness of the importance of caring for and protecting the surrounding environment. This problem is of serious concern to the Community Service Student Creativity Program Team (PKM-PM) Faculty of Education (FIP) Undiksha. Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) students in the name of I Gusti Agung Ayu Putu Listyana, joined a cross-study program team consisting of Sahda Nabila Pramesti from the Mathematics Education Study Program (team leader), Ni Kadek Sintya Dewi from the Mathematics Education Study Program, Putri Meinika Utami from the Chemistry Education Study Program, and Ni Made Sahsikirani from the Fine Arts Education Study Program, initiated the innovation of training in making Upcycle Art from textile waste for PKK women to create a Green Clean City (GCC).
For your information, the innovation mentored by the Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., has succeeded in obtaining PKM-PM funding in 2022. This service will enter the PKM Implementation Progress Assessment (PKP2) stage by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Ristekdikti) on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
The team leader, Sahda Nabila Pramesti, explained that this innovation was motivated by the low awareness of the community, especially PKK women in Jalan Arjuna, Banjar Jawa Subdistrict, Singaraja regarding the importance of waste management. He said, according to data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, in 2022 there will be 97.82% of waste sources coming from households.
Confirmed, I Gusti Agung Ayu Putu Listyana said he was proud because the proposal submitted had now passed funding. He, who is familiarly called Gung Ayu, hopes that his innovation can appear at the prestigious National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) in 2022.
“Proud to be at this stage, hopefully, this innovation can appear at PIMNAS later,” hoped Gung Ayu.
She did not forget to invite all FIP students to always push themselves, so they can compete in various competitions.
“Friends, let’s keep going, even if slowly because by taking steps we will get closer to our goals and achievements,” she added.
Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., appreciated this achievement. According to him, this innovation supports the achievement of Main Performance Indicators (IKU) for Higher Education. More than that, his party considers this service to be very important to increase the competitiveness of faculty and graduates in the future.
