Singaraja – Z generation existence in education world has been special attention to Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program (PGPAUD) in order to produce its competitive graduates. Supporting this, Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program held a hybrid Academic Seminar entitled “Preparing Z Generation to be Great Early Childhood Educators” on Friday morning (08/07/2022) at the Seminar Room of FIP Undiksha.
That occasion presented the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. I Made Tegeh, S.Pd., M.Pd., Vice Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., Department Head of Elementary Education (Pendas), Drs. I Made Suarjana, M.Pd., Department Secretary of Elementary Education, Dr. I Gede Astawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., and the Coordinator of Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program (PGPAUD) Putu Rahayu Ujianti, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psikolog.
In his welcome speech, Putu Aditya who represented the Dean of Faculty of Education Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Gading, M.Psi., conveyed that this national event became the momentum for the Academic Society of the Faculty of Education Undiksha to be able to dig knowledge deeper. He believed that the Z generation own high skill and creativity, and these potencies could be empowered so that through this event, graduates who are excellent and competitive in the world of work could be produced.
“It is very important for The Z Generation to be equipped with many things, one of them is how to face this world with the rapidness of technology. One characteristic of the Z generation is the open way of think, high creativity, these should be developed so that they could develop themselves, especially for being Early Childhood teachers”, he said.
The Chairwoman of the Committee, Dewa Ayu Puteri Handayani, S.Psi., M.Sc., appraised that this yearly event was very relevant with the education world, she thought that this Z generation have different characteristic from the previous generation, in order to answer this challenge, the academic webinar was held so that hopefully, in the future the prospective educator are able to compete globally both in regional, national even international event. “As we know, the Z generation have different characteristic, it is important here that we get to know each other better, about how the characteristic of the Z generation so that in the future, we as the prospective educators are able to give knowledge and educate them better. The future opportunity is certainly, when we have known about the characteristic, in the future, they would be better able to compete in the world of work in the various education field.” she concluded.
