Singaraja – The existence of Generation Z in the world of education is a special concern for the Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Study Program (PGPAUD) to be able to produce competitive PAUD graduates. Supporting this, the Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Study Program held an Academic Webinar entitled “Preparing Generation Z to Become Great PAUD Educators”, semi-online on Friday (08/07/2022) morning at the Undiksha FIP Seminar Room.
On this occasion, the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. I Made Tegeh, S.Pd., M.Pd., Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., accompanied by the Head of the Basic Education Department (Pendas), Drs. I Made Suarjana, M.Pd., Secretary of the Basic Education Department, Dr. I Gede Astawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., and the Coordinator of the Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program (PGPAUD), Putu Rahayu Ujiti, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist.
In his speech, Putu Aditya representing the Dean of FIP Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Gading, M.Psi., said that this National level event was a momentum for the FIP Undiksha Academic Community, to be able to explore deeper knowledge. He believes that Generation Z has high skills and creativity. According to him, this potential can be empowered so that through this activity, a generation that is superior and able to compete in the world of work can be created.
“It is very important for Generation Z to be equipped with many things, one of which is how to face this world with rapid technology. “One of the characteristics of Generation Z is an open way of thinking, high creativity, this must be developed so that they can develop themselves, especially to become PAUD teachers,” he said.
Chair of the Committee, Dewa Ayu Puteri Handayani, S.Psi., M.Sc., assesses that this annual event is very relevant to the world of education. According to him, generation Z has different characteristics from previous generations. In response to these challenges, an academic webinar was held with the hope that future candidates and Educators can compete globally, both regionally, nationally, and even internationally. “As we know, Generation Z has different characteristics. Here we need to know more about the characteristics of Generation Z so that in the future we as prospective educators will be able to provide knowledge and educate them better. “Opportunities in the future, of course, when we know these characteristics, in the future they will be better able to compete in the world of work in various educational domains,” he concluded.
