Singaraja – Supporting the achievement of the Vision of the Faculty of Education (FIP), Excellence in Asia based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy, the Basic Education Department Student Association (HMJ Pendas) held another Social Service event, on Friday (27/05/2022) morning. The activity was held at the Ananda Seva Dharma Orphanage, Sangsit Village, District. Sawan, Kab. Buleleng was attended directly by the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., accompanied by the Head of the Basic Education Department, Drs. I Made Suarjana, M.Pd.
This time the social service was held for 3 (three) days ending on Sunday (29/05/2022) by holding a clean-up around Penarukan Beach, said the Chair of the Committee, I Wayan Riski Ananda Putra, a Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) student. He explained that this Social Service activity was filled with socialization related to the Introduction to HMJ Pendas with the resource person, Putu Karisma Pebriyanti, a PGSD student, as well as Educational Literacy which was resourced by a PGSD student, Valentina Dewi Yosoa.
Confirmed after the activity, the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Putu Aditya Antara, said that this activity was an implementation of Tri Hita Karana, which is the concept of harmony between humans and God, humans and nature, and humans and each other.
“This activity is very in line with Undiksha’s vision, we strive to excel based on Tri Hita Karana. This social service activity is an actual implementation of that. Hopefully, this event will continue, so that we can continue to learn, can be directly present in society, so that the knowledge we learn on campus can really be implemented. “This is a good moment for students, for all of us, to be able to harmonize ourselves through sharing with others,” he said.
He hopes that in the future students will be able to design and develop work programs that directly touch the community.
“Living in society is a real school. If it is implemented on campus, I think we can only use about 30-40% of it, but when we are in society, we can really implement it so that it can be 100% of the knowledge we gain,” he hoped.
The manager of the Ananda Seva Dharma Orphanage, Dada Sutapa, really appreciates the presence of students from the Faculty of Education. He believes that there has been a continuous social bond between the students and the orphanage children, especially since this social activity has been carried out for 2 years under the management of HMJ Pendas. He hopes that in the future this activity can continue to be carried out. “I really appreciate the arrival of students from HMJ Pendas for the second time, so I think there is a continuity of the social bonding process between Pendas and this orphanage. “In the future it won’t stop here, hopefully, every year there can be similar events, and please use this home for social activities, we are ready to welcome Pendas when you want to carry out social activities in the future,” he concluded.
