Denpasar – The encouraging female Pencak Silat athlete of the Faculty of Education (FIP), Dewa Ayu Mas Gita Pramesti (PGSD), succeeded in making the Faculty proud after winning the 1st Class B adult female champion in Bali International Championship II Pencak Silat Championship 2022, which was held at Gelanggang Gor Praja Raksaka Kodam IX/Udayana, Kepaon, South Denpasar, on Tuesday-Thursday (5-7/7/2022). She also represented Undiksha in this fight, managed to bring a gold medal after defeating Naga Sakti – Java college athletes with a perfect score of 3-0.
The achievement of this encouraging female athlete was welcomed proudly by the vice dean for Students and Alumni affairs, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., he and the ranks really appreciate the achievements that have been achieved by the student of PGSD UPPBM Denpasar. He hopes that in the future FIP’s achievements can continue to increase, both at the Regional, National, and even international levels, he said that this brilliant achievement can support the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU), Simkatmawa, and faculty clustering.
“I, as the Vice Dean III, really appreciate the achievements of PGSD UPPBM Denpasar students. We have prepared special incentives for the students who have won the competition, as a stimulus to continue working for the greatness of the Faculty of Education. In addition, we also convert those achievements into course grades.”, he said.
Confirmed, Dewa Ayu Gita overflowing a sense of pride to be able to make the name of the faculty and institution. This achievement is considered a leap to medal in the next championship. Despite of suffering a leg injury during the match, the persistence of Dewa Ayu Gita delivered Undiksha as the 2nd overall champion.
“I was very proud to give my best to Ganesha University of Education and was grateful to have the experience of competing against silat schools all over Indonesia, Despite of leg injuries at the finals, I kept fighting hard to win a gold medal. This championship would provide incentive for excellence in the next championship. I hope that in the future there are more advanced physical training and technical techniques in the games, so that I can accomplish better in the future, “she said. (PR. Dewa Nida)
