Singaraja – Faculty of Education (FIP) Undiksha through the Basic Education Department Student Association (HMJ Pendas) successfully held the 2023 Department Introduction and Harmony Day event. Held in the Undiksha Auditorium, this event was attended by 519 new students from the Elementary Education Department who were full of enthusiasm to begin their educational journey (20/08/2023). In an atmosphere full of enthusiasm, this event was opened by the Dean of FIP Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., and attended by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, FIP Undiksha, Prof. Dr. Kadek Suranata, S.Pd., M.Pd., Kons, Deputy Dean for Finance and General Affairs FIP Undiksha, Dr. I Komang Sudarma, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni FIP Undiksha, Dr. Putu Aditya Antara, S.Pd., M.Pd., accompanied by the Head of the Basic Education Department (Pendas), Drs. I Made Suarjana, M.Pd., Secretary of the Basic Education Department (Pendas), Dr. I Gede Astawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., Coordinator of the PGPAUD Study Program, Putu Rahayu Ujiti, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist., together with Lecturers in the Pendas Department.
The activity with the theme “Through Harmony Day Creates SMART (Polite, Independent, Active, Diligent and Skilled) Pendas Students Based on Tri Hita Karan” is a valuable moment for new students to understand more deeply about their future learning environment. Prof. Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., in his speech, emphasized the importance of this event as a first step in exploring the world of higher education.
“Harmony Day is an opportunity to understand more deeply about your major and study program. “In two days, you will get to know the environment where you will study and develop to complete your studies,” he said.
In an interview with the FIP Undiksha Public Relations TEAM, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained the further objectives of this event. “Through this series of events, we want to introduce various superior programs of the Faculty of Education, such as the FIP Achievement Program, the FIP Berkarya Program, the FIP Innovation Program, and many more. We provide facilities that support these new students with 11-12 laboratories to develop their interests and talents.”
Not only does it provide insight into these programs, but this event also has a mission to help new students feel more familiar with the campus environment and foster a high enthusiasm for learning. Prof. Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., gave closing words with positive hopes to the new students.
